Tea Pavilion
A Borrowed View
Drawing inspiration from 15th Century traditional Su-Zhou pavilions, the design of the tea pavilion situated within the garden of a family home, borrows the view of the surrounding landscape.
The language of traditional Chinese windows are assimilated by using a reflective granite stone window frame as an illusive tool to frame the spillage of foliage. The mauve concrete envelope contains a central courtyard connecting to the sky, allowing the visitor to ponder upon the ephemerality of the environment and within our inner thoughts.
